What each figure on a HOLO tax invoice means.
The invoice number
A 12-digit number in the format YYMMNNNNNNNN:
-
YY — year
-
MM — month
-
NNNNNNNN — a sequential running number within that month
Thai tax rules require invoice numbers to be sequential and without gaps, so the counter resets at the start of each month to align with the VAT return cycle.
The parties
Issuer — HOLO's registered company name, address and tax ID.
You — your legal name, address and tax ID, exactly as they were when the sale took place. Updating your profile later doesn't alter historic invoices; that's a legal requirement, not an oversight.
The figures
| Line | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Sale amount | What the buyer paid |
| Fee | HOLO's 8% service fee |
| VAT | VAT contained within that fee |
| Withholding tax | WHT deducted and filed by HOLO on your behalf |
Why the fee shows VAT inside it
The 8% is VAT-inclusive. The invoice separates the VAT component out for your records, but it isn't an additional charge — it's already inside the 8%.
For your accountant
Download the invoices covering your filing period and send them across. They contain everything needed to account for HOLO's fees and the withholding tax already filed.
Discrepancies
Contact support with the invoice number. Invoices can't be edited once issued — correcting one requires a formal document, which we'll handle properly.
