How drop rates work

Last updated on Aug 11, 2026

Understanding the odds published on every pack.

Every pack publishes its drop rates by rarity tier. Here's what those numbers mean and how they're calculated.

Two ways rates are set

  1. Pool-proportional. Odds follow the actual contents of the pool. If 60 of the 200 cards remaining are Silver, Silver is 30%. As cards are pulled, the percentages update to match what's genuinely left.

  2. Fixed weights. The pack sets each tier's odds directly, independent of how many cards sit in each tier.

Either way, the percentages you see on the pack page are the real ones being used at that moment.

Rates are per card, not per pack

If a pack contains three cards, each card is drawn against the published rates.

A 5% Holo rate doesn't mean 5% of packs contain a Holo — it means each of the three cards has a 5% chance, so your chance of at least one is higher.

Odds shift as a pack sells

Because each physical card exists once, pulling a card removes it from the pool. On pool-proportional packs this moves the percentages. The effect is small on a large pool and more noticeable on a small one.

What "1%" honestly means

A 1% chance means roughly one in a hundred. It does not mean you're guaranteed a hit in a hundred packs, and it does not mean you're "due" one after ninety misses.

Each draw is independent. If a pack offers a guarantee, it's stated explicitly.
